Our Company Story

Formed in 2007, Leadership Garden™ Enterprises LLC is the parent company for Leader Garden Press, our publishing division and Leadership Garden Services, our training and consulting division (formerly Synergy in Motion).

Our ultimate goal is the formation of the Leadership Garden Foundation that will fund and support others as they grow thriving Leadership Gardens using the principles and practices we advocate.

My journey as the Leadership Garden entrepreneur began many years before I knew I had embarked on it. When I began to write my book about leadership, synthesizing my professional experience, I stumbled across the driving force for my passion, career, and life that had been buried deep inside. It was one momentous day in July of 1976, when my mother died by suicide. On that day, I vowed I would not merely survive, but thrive. I found leadership from within was the key but it took many more years to find my unique way.

To lead means simply to guide and direct. Taking this organic view; leadership is not a title, position, or job. It’s a way of life that expresses your purpose and imagination, and your goals and dreams. The spirit in which you lead your life is the difference between surviving and thriving.

Consistent with this view of leadership, the Enterprise has grown from the inside out, in partnership with my husband. We founded our publishing company in 2006, to bring this new view of leadership to the world in an ongoing acronym and allegory based series of books and auxiliary education and training products.

The planting of a Leadership Garden begins with an adult book and audio version of U.N.I.Q.U.E.: Growing the Leader Within, intended to cultivate the soil and create fertile ground to sprout the seeds of greatness in children around the world which you can order now.

To support that intention, the next in the series is U.N.I.Q.U.E. Kids: Growing My Leadership Garden, targeted toward 8-9 year olds to be released in the spring of 2009.

Personal leadership is the action you must take to create a thriving future and make the difference you want now and for future generations.
